Team Bundy Syndicates are a leader in Private and Public
Syndication. We work hard to improve Greyhound Racing and Syndication
for everyone. We support Country racing in Australia and the
'little people' of the sport who are truely the backbone of
the Industry and quite often overlooked.
Now in our 3rd year, and a team of close to 30, Team Bundy has
seen recent expansion and exposure in the press. A combination
of track sucess and hard work, we now have a family of syndicate
members Australia wide, and now spreading our wings to New Zealand.
We now have dogs racing - or close to racing - in SA, NSW, VIC,
WA, QLD and TAS.
The idea of Team Bundy Syndicates started for a few reasons.
Helping people enter the sport
------------
When entering the sport myself, I found it very hard to find
out exactly how to go about things. When I first started I was
under the impression you bought a dog one day and raced it the
next. I was totally blind and no matter how hard I tried on
the experience I had, I only hit brick walls. I had no idea
of the pre-training, the trials - the costs - all these hidden
factors. I wanted to change that and not only provide people
with an easy avenue into a sport that should only be enjoyed
not stressed over but be here as well if anyone had questions
whatsover in regards to this issue. All these hidden factors
I didnt want people to have to worry about. I am happy to say
I get emails from people quite often and hope I have helped
them.
Respect
------------
Eventually I came across a trainer in Adelaide called Con Haagmans
who went out of his way to help me get into the Industry I wanted
to be in since a child. As a kid, as young as 6 I would tell
Dad how I wanted that 'Doggie'. Con made my dreams come true.
I know that no matter how hard I try, I will never ever be able
to repay the respect I have for him and his family, who have
almost become my second family, but I wanted to at least try
so I thought being able to bring some good dogs into his kennels
as well as accomplish the other goals I set out to acheive and
I did just that.
Mind you, in recent times the need to have to expand and evolve
has seen new states and new trainers into the equasion.
Exposure
------------
I wanted to see if I could help end the neglect often shown
by the Industry on certain matters, a few main ones being:
- Firstly, theres the Greyhound Adoption Programs (GAP) around
Australia which I try as hard as I can to promote, recently
with the inception of the GAP Charity Racing Dog Syndicate,
as each dog is a living being and deserves a fair go! People
need to be educated about the real animals Greyhounds are -
awesome pets and friendly animals. With the EI Virus vital funds
for the GAP Programs are being taken to rob Peter to pay Paul
so to speak and the only ones suffering are the same animals
that give us the thrills on the racetrack. I want to change
that, this is a vital part of our Industry. Greyhounds deserve
a couch!
-Secondly, the backyard trainers and the country tracks are
the backbone of this sport and not so much neglected, but commonly
overlooked. If it wasnt for the people who battled their guts
out to do what they love.... I have always been willing to put
my hand into my own pocket and sponsor the country tracks when
I can, and will continue too when possible, and continue my
venture to make the Industry Leaders realise if it wasnt for
us, they wouldnt have a job, either.
Help The Sport and Syndication
------------
Greyhound Racing in my mind is the greatest sport on the Earth.
I am someone who lives for the sport and always wants to improve
it for everyone, both spectator or Industry Member. I dont want
to be someone special, simply someone who is willing to put
their hand up and be there to actively promote the sport and
with the Goals I have set I hope I can improve the sport, even
just in a little way, in the future.
Syndication I beleive is the future of Greyhound Owning and
affordable for everyone. I realised that not everyone can afford
$5000 for a dog, but $500 a share... well thats different. I
also realised the fantastic social outlet it can be, and a good
excuse to involve family, friends and workmates. I thought that
Governing bodies and other Syndications went around things the
wrong way in certain areas and wanted to see if I could better
this.
Greyhound Racing SA has been utterly brilliant in assisting
me with this and I hope other states can start to listen as
well. I couldnt believe that something that was suited to everyone
wasnt looked at more. Not anymore. Has been a pleasure working
closely with them.
To explain some things a bit more...
We now have set in place a network of trainers and breeders
to provide us not only with Quality Racedogs, but look after
them like they should be! We would like to think that when you
buy into a syndicate with Team Bundy, that you do so with confidence
knowing that the team we have in place are experienced and professional
enough to assist us in doing just this. With the member forums,
you are kept upto date with your syndicate frequently and know
when your dog is running days before the race. We beleive that
the dog is partly yours, so you deserve to know whats happening.
Some of our trainers are also members of the forums and participate
openly.
We are always available for assistance via the contact page
on the site, and also located on the site is a help page to
guide you through the entry stages into purchasing your share.
For extra confidence all syndicates are lodged with Governing
Bodies so you are officially a syndicate member with a registered
body.
I stress my goals are my reasons for running Team Bundy and
do not run it like others for profit. The only money I make
are from the share I purchase in every syndicate. Therefore
the dogs I buy have to make a return for me to make a return.
We can not take out of the equation some of the risk involved,
dogs do get hurt and no one can help that, but on the brighter
side I can not tell you how exciting it is to see your dog win,
its a moment I wont forget nor can find the right
words to describe. So if youre willing to have some fun
and have something to involve your mates and family with then
I suggest you consider Greyhounds syndication.
I can also find you a dog and syndicate it just for you and
your mates, work colleagues or family, if you say have a group
of 3 - 5, even upto 25 interested.
I guess what I am is the syndicate manager of all Team Bundy
syndicates. I do all the work for everyone and because of my
close relationship with my trainers, I can keep everyone up
to date the minute something happens and stops them from being
disturbed from their work. This way, instead of them having
to pay 50 people, which is a lot of time for a greyhound trainer
who has none spare in the first place, they just simply pay
me as Team Bundy and I divide up as necessary from
there, to all of you. You can then relax, and dedicate yourself
to the fun, as someone else takes care of all the business aspects
of things and guidance of the dog - only being advised by professionals
along the way.
Syndicate shares are usually $350-$700 of course larger or
smaller depending on the Greyhound being syndicated, and number
of people involved. More details are provided, as well as the
legal jargon, upon registration of interest on a particular
syndicate. Our syndicates are open to anyone over 18 years of
age and you are a Licenced Greyhound Owner - dont dispare, its
quite often free and very simple, and I can help if you havent
got an Owners Licence!
